This special train tour launched in December last year attempts to focus on the eminent Buddhist pilgrimage sites in India that played a veritable role in defining the core principles of the Buddhist religion. In the 8D/7N tour extended by IRCTC, you get to visit places like Bodhgaya, Rajgir, Varanasi, Kushinagar, and Rajgir where Lord Buddha is known to spend a major part of his life after obtaining spiritual enlightenment. This new train is an updated version of the ten-year-old Rajdhani express that was previously being used for the Buddhist circuit tour earlier.

The train consists of twelve aesthetically designed coaches with four First class AC coach, two-second class AC coach, one kitchen car, two dining coaches, two power coaches, and one coach is reserved for the staff for a hassle-free journey. The package also includes a trip to Taj Mahal in Agra at the end of the tour. Apart from the spacious cabins and accommodations, the train is decked up with hi-tech modern amenities like CCTV cameras, smoke detection system to meet the requirements of travelers onboard. You can scroll through the library to banish boredom during the journey and you get basic facilities like coffee and purified water without additional costs. You will also find a foot massager with a sofa in the second class coach which lets the guests relax and enjoy the slow pace of the journey.

The LHB kitchen coach equipped with high tech kitchen gadgets and equipment is a brilliant addition to the train which guarantees that every passenger is served hygienically prepared meals. The rooms are comfortable with inbuilt lockers to ensure the highest level of safety for the passengers. The train has luxury toilet facilities with geysers and showers but still, the tour allows the guests to stop at hotels for overnight stays or to freshen up themselves. At every destination, guests are provided with luggage assistance for a fuss-free experience.

The dining coaches offer ample room for guests to enjoy their meals in the most elaborate manner. The glass windows are fitted with Venetian blinds to let the guests enjoy the views of the outsides. These coaches can accommodate up to 64 people at a time and are decked with facilities you get in five-star hotels like hot plates, bottle chillers, deep freezer, microwave oven, and a dishwasher. The train is designed to highlight the notable features of India like yoga postures, heritage buildings, Wildlife and dance forms which can be seen on the vinyl covers used in the train.
