The legendary Golden Temple also known with the names of Sri Darbar Sahib and Sri Harmandir Sahib is situated in Amritsar, Punjab. This temple is known as the Golden temple because it shines with the coating of around 750 kg of pure gold. On the top of the gurdwara there is a dome overlaid with genuine gold leaf or lotus petal. The lower part of this gurdwara built with four gates provide the entry to this sacred place. The four doors are decorated with the artistic work located in all the four direction i.e. East, West, North and South respectively.<\/p>\n

This temple is a beautiful combination of Hindu and Muslim styles of architecture which is rarely seen nowadays. This artistic design and decoration of pure gold can mesmerize anyone.<\/p>\n
