THE NORTH :-

The
North of Mauritius is the flattest part of the island. It will seduce you with
vast expanses of sugar-cane blowing gently in the wind,ancient stone chimneys
scattered in the fields and a sparkling sea of ever-changing reflections
As you descend from the plateau to the coast we can admire the beautiful volcanic
islands of Gunners Quoin, Flat Island and Round Island. Like floating
jewels in a turquoise sea, they add the final touch to a truly enchanting landscape.
Pamplemousses Gardens : - world famous gardens for their unique collection
of indigenous and exotic plants. Grand Baie and the North Coast :- best suited
for water sports - sailing, water-skiing, windsurfing, parasailing.
THE SOUTH :- 
From
Mahebourg to Le Morne, the south offers a world of ever-changing scenery. A
majestic chain of mountains dominates the bay of Vieux Grand Port,which in 1810
was the stage for a naval battle between the French and the English fleets.

Mahebourg :- a lively town with a bustling, colourful market, many ancient
stone buildings and a fascinating naval museum.
Le Gris Gris :- impressive cliffs, sculpted by wind and sea,shelter an
exquisite sandy bay. Take a deep breath of revitilising, fresh sea air.
Telfair Gardens: named after a British magistrate,a great look of ever-changing
seascape.
Rochester Falls :- a magnificient cascade of water set in a spectacula
surroundings.
Le Morne :- fine sandy beaches lapped by cry
THE CENTRAL PLATEAU :-
Most of the residential towns are situated in this area, where the climate
is cooler and the vegetation more luxuriant.Craters, waterfalls, reservoires
and natural lakes all form part of the varied landscape.

Eureka
: It is one of the largest and the most beautiful of the colonial houses on
the island.
Phoenix : a huge commercial centre housing a French hypermarket and an array
of smart shops and boutiques.
Floreal : world's major exporter of textiles and top quality knitwear is available
here.
Curepipe : it has a charming colonial style town hall, a superb botanical
garden,excellent restaurants and a huge variety of European and Oriental shops.
Grand Bassin : a natural lake lying in the crater of an extinct volcano. It
is a sacred site for hindus.
THE EAST : Follow the winding east
coast road and you will discover the breezier side of the island, with its kilometres
of sandy beaches, eachone more beautiful than the last.
Belle Mare and Palmar :- endless sandy beaches sparkling in the sun and gently
lapped by the turquoise waters of the laggon.
Domain de l'Ylang Ylang : visit the distillation plant where the flowers are
transformed into essential oils and culinary delights of the Domaine in this
rustic and enchanted settings.
Domaine du Chasseur : is a superb nature trails which lead you to the spectacular
viewpoints.
THE WEST :-The sunniest and most sheltered part
of the island, the West is very reminiscent if the African savannah with
its grassy plains scattered with thorny acasia trees.
Tamarin : is named after a tropical fruit and is a well known as a year-round
paradise for water surfers.
Woolmar and Flic-en-Flac : blue skies, ribbon of white sandy beaches, a sea
of shimmering blue and green reflections, the soft murmur of the casuarina
trees - are some of the delights waiting to welcome you.
Casela : it is a home to thousands of birds from all the corners of the world.
You can also see tigers,monkeys,giant tortoises,ostriches and swans.
PORT LOUIS :- Circled by mountains,

Port
Louis, the capital and port of the island, was founded by Mahe de Labourdonnais
in 1736. Despite being the business centre of the country,it has preserved its
green open spaces,colonial buildings, pictureque neighbourhoods and its lively
market, bursting with colours and exotic fragrances.
Government House : This is the oldest building on the island.
The Theatre : built in 1822, this charming little theatre stages productions
by both Mauritian and foreign theatre companies.
The Citadel : this fort was built by the British in 1834 and now is a spectacular
venue for exhibitions, shows and concerts.
The Caudan : a magnificient commercial and shopping complex, it is an architectural
jewel. It houses a superb hotel, three cinemas, a casino, a bank, a travel
agency, Indian, Chinese and European restaurants, cafes, a pizzeria, art galleries,
a craft market and a huge choice of shops and boutiques.
Gardens : two main gardens : the Robert Edward Hart garden and the Company garden
provides two pockets of greenery and the fresh air in the heart of the noisy
capital city.
