Trekking TourDay 01 : Arrive Delhi

Met on arrival and transfer to Hotel.

Day 02 : Arrival in Leh

A thrilling early morning flight to Leh. The crisp air of Leh when you disembark from the airplane welcomes you to this unpolluted Himalayan destination. You will be welcomed and escorted to our hotel where room has been booked for your ready occupancy. A little briefing on the day's program and a breakfast, you are advised to rest for the first half of the day. After lunch we will go for an easy and relaxed orientation drive of Leh market. Overnight stay at hotel in Leh.

Day 03 : Leh

Excursion to Shey, Thiksey, Hemis.

Today we proceed for Indus Valley monastery tour. We start with a visit to Shey the ancient capital of Ladakh. The monastery here has a huge gold-gilded statue of Buddha Sakyamuni with a large silver lamp burning in front of the statue.

Then we visit Thiksey Gompa an impressive complex rising tier upon tier on a hill above the village. The monastery has a beautiful 30 m high gold-plated statue of Maitreya Buddha, the Buddha of the future. Drive further to visit the famous Hemis Gompa founded in 1630's by Stag-tsang-ras-pa under the royal patronage of Sengge Namgyal.

Hemis is one of the largest and richest Gompa of Ladakh. The two-day festival of monastic dance in June-July has raised the reputation of Hemis particularly high. The festival is dedicated to Guru Padmasambhava, popularly known as second Buddha and responsible for spreading Buddhism in the Tibetan world.

Later in the evening we drive back to Leh, Overnight stay at hotel in Leh.

Day 04 : Leh - Likir via Basgo Castle

Morning drive to Likir. En-route you will visit Basgo castle which has declared as world heritage site by UNESCO. Drive to continue to Likir upon arrival at Likir check in to camp, where you will meet your camp crew, who will be with you for next four days. Lunch at the camp after lunch visit the Likir Monastery and explore the beautiful village, see many religious artifacts in the monastery, visit the huge 9-storey open standing statue of Maitreya Buddha (Future Buddha). The statue is one of its kinds in the entire Himalayan Buddhist belt. Dinner and overnight at camp.

Day 05 : Likir - Yangthang (05 hrs trek)

After breakfast start trek to Yangthang. Start your trek through barely field to cross a small stream & then gradually trek to village Yangthang to camp overnight.

Day 06 : Yangthang - Hemis Shukapachan (5-6 hrs trek)

Trek to Wulle valley and then ascent for one hour to Lchipkyangchan La and then descent towards Hemis Shukpachan, the highest village in this route. It's a big village and is famous for Juniper trees found in plenty here, hence the name of village. We will visit a family house and have some butter tea and Ladakhi chang (the local beer) there is a small but beautiful monastery in the middle of the village that we can visit. Camp for overnight stay

Day 07 : Hemis Shukapachan - Temisgam (5-6 hrs trek)

We trek through the Apricot rich village of Ang and reach Temisgam, the historical village, where one can visit the monastery and the Palace. This valley has warm weather as compared to Indus valley and hence conducive to thick vegetation and hence there are plenty of apricots, apples and Walnuts making it one of the richest valleys in Ladakh. Since people are rich they have beautiful houses with wonderful interior. Dinner and overnight at camp.

Day 08 : Temisgam - Ulleytokpo / After Lunch Visit Lamayuru Monastery

In the morning our vehicle will pick you for drive to Ulleytokpo. Check-in to Ulley ethnic resort. After Lunch go for visit Lamayuru Monastery. After finishing the trek we drive to Lamayuru lower ladakh its also called as sham. Lamayuru Gompa: The oldest holy site in Ladakh, it was a bon shrine prior to the advent of Buddhism. Also known as Yung Drung (Swastika) it is sited on a high promontory overlooking the village and valley. For sheer spectacle value no other Gompa can match Lamayuru. Dinner and overnight stay at Ulley ethnic resort

Trekking Tour Day 09 : Ulleytokpo - Alchi - Leh

After breakfast drive back to Leh en-route visit Alchi monastery "one of the oldest Monasteries in Ladakh, and the wall murals which are more than one thousand year old and it is worth a stopover" .Dinner and overnight stay at Hotel in Leh.

Day 10 : Leh - Nubra Valley

After breakfast drive to Nubra Valley, the road to Nubra Valley goes through the highest motorable pass in the world at Khardung La (5602m) The Pass is almost permanently covered in fog and snow.

Nubra means green, used to be on the trading route connecting Tibet with Turkistan. The Nubra Valley was a coveted treasure for Turkistan and was repeatedly invaded by it. Also know as the Valley of flowers, Nubra has always been well cultivated and fertile, with the best climate in Ladakh, so grains and fruit, such as apples and apricots, have always been plentiful. Ninety per cent of Nubra's population is Buddhist.

Nubra's much known monastery, Samsthaling is situated on the mountainside just above Sumur. This was the route taken by the trade caravans, and Panamik, the last village on this circuit, was at that time a busy centre, the last major settlement before the caravans plunged into the mountains of the Karakoram and the Kun-Lu. Here they invariable halted for a few days to make final preparations for getting over the mountains, or to recuperate afterwards. There would be no supplies, not even grazing for the animals, for about 12 days after Panamik, so they had to carry all their provisions for that time.

The Government maintained a granary to sell food grains for the men, and even for the horses. On arrival in the Nubra valley check in at the camp.

Overnight stay at the Camp.

Day 11 : Nubra Valley

Today drive for the visit of Diskit Monastery and Panamik hot water spring. Later drive to Hunder and enjoy the Camel Safari.Overnight stay at the Camp

Day 12 : Nubra - Leh

After the breakfast drive to leh via visit Samstenling Gompa here was founded by Lama Tsultims Nima and Monastic community was introduced as Rizong Gompa.

Overnight stay in hotel.

Day 13 : Leh

AM: Excursion Spituk
PM: Excursion to Sankar Gompa & Shanti Stupa

Post breakfast we depart for AM Sightseeing tour to Spituk Spituk Monastery, which was founded by Od Lde, in the 11th century AD. In those days the gompa belonged to the Kadampa School but Gelukpa order was introduced during the region of King Dragspa Bum idle, when Lama Lhawang Lotus restored the monastery.

Later we drive back to hotel on time for lunch

Later in the afternoon, guided sightseeing tour visiting the Sanker Gompa, which is towards the north of the Town, it has an impressive). Later visit Shanti Stupa, The Japanese for World Peace built the Shanti Stupa, at Changspa, on the hilltop, and was inaugurated by Dalai Lama in 1985. Its state of the art work attracts a lot of tourists to Ladakh and is spectacular to watch. From there one can see the nice spectacular view of Leh town.

Day 14 : Leh-Delhi (Fly)

FLy to Delhi. Met on arrival and transfer to Hotel. Rest of the day free for independent activities. Overnight.

Day 15 : Delhi Departure

Transfer to airport in time to connect flight back home.
